Leak detection system

cable

Due to the increasing pressure on waste management companies concerning the handling and containment of waste material, geomembrane technology is used where leakage of fluids may be a possibility and where such leakage can pollute the water table.  Since geomembrane materials are generally supplied on rolls, a welding process is required to generate a large geomembrane matt. A thin layer of sand/clay is then used to cover the lining prior to filling and the machinery employed to do this can frequently cause tears or rips in the liner. The Allied Leak detection system is designed to provide landfill operators or geomembrane installers with an accurate detection method for cuts or holes as small as 3mm. Such damage may be as a result of poor installation techniques, incorrect dumping procedures or weld failure during installation of the membrane.Regardless of cause this technology simply and accurately locates holes by measuring current flow from outside the liner to the inside landfill area, allowing repair procedures to be performed. Such techniques ensure the liner is integral prior to full scale waste management.

A portable frame with data logger connected to two non-polarizing electrodes allows for the results to be recorded for operations which require a full report. The equipment is supplied complete with download software allowing data to be plotted on software such as Surfer (notsupplied) or Windows Excel.....(pfd brochure)
